After 30ish we all need to increase the focus on our muscles, bones and joints. If we do not engage in weight bearing exercises, we will end up losing muscle, weakening the spine and causing brittle bones. Spinal discs and nerves can become compressed and cause back pain. Bone loss leads to hip and limb fractures, and knee and shoulder joint problems can become debilitating conditions. Resistance (weight) training twice a week, alongside yoga or pilates, will help prevent these and improve overall balance and flexibility.
